Every year, the United Nations Association of Uganda (UNAU) converges youths from different parts of the world in its annual conference The Uganda Model United Nations (UMUN). This is an annual educational conference that brings together youths from various institutions of learning and organizations to diplomatically debate various global issues by simulating one of the organs of the United Nations (UN). These organs include; the Secretariat the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council and the International Court of Justice

The mode of this educational conference mandates applicants to be assigned countries of the United Nations and represent them as delegates and ambassadors. This thrusts them to intensive research, diplomacy, debate and an appreciation for international relations.   The youths also gain knowledge and experience about global events, the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations thereby imparting productive skills of dialogue, research, teamwork, compromise, empathy, leadership, public speaking, critical thinking and confidence. They also acquaint themselves with the role of various multinational organizations in the world.
