Uganda Model United Nations 2016

The Uganda Model United Nations (UMUN) is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly where young people between the ages of 18 -35 from different backgrounds in Uganda get an opportunity to practice diplomacy, leadership and ways that the United Nations (UN) operates.

UMUN focuses mostly on national, regional and global issues that rise concern to the youth.

Historically, UMUN has been organized and held since its launch in 2009 at Makerere University. Consecutively, every after a year the conference progressed on to Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in 2010, Nkumba University in 2011, Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 2013, Makerere University in 2014 and and recently in Cavendish University.

WFUNA Youth Advisory Council Elected

WFUNA Youth Advisory Council elected during the 2nd WFUNA Global Youth Forum

WFUNA Youth Advisory Council Elected

During the Global Youth Forum, the Youth Advisory Council was elected on the 21st of November 2015 by youth delegates attending the Plenary Assembly to serve a three-year term. WFUNA's Youth Advisory Council is comprised of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 youth leaders from various regions around the world with the objective of advising the Secretary-General on youth issues, by brainstorming pragmatic, innovative, and cost-effective programs for WFUNA's local, regional, and global networks. The Youth Program Associate and the Youth Advisory Council are in charge of disseminating information about these programs to WFUNA's youth constituents.

Chapters campaign against typhoid

Following the recent outbreak of typhoid in Kampala, UNAU chapters, Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) conducted   a sanitation campaign that aimed at educating the locals about causes and spread of typhoid in the communities nearest.

UN In Uganda launches Pulse Lab Kampala

The office of the UN Resident Coordinator in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister, recently launched the Pulse Lab in Kampala

This data analyzing lab focuses on assisting  the UN in Uganda, the government and other stakeholders in the country to predict or make informed decisions on events hence helping ensuring sustainable development.
